• When using a gas cooktop gas does escape
• With a gas cooktop you also burn the impurities in the gas and so need to have your rangehood running all the time
• If you have  recipe book or loose clothing near an induction cooktop they won't catch on fire whereas they may with the naked flame of a gas cooktop
• If a pot boils over on an induction cooktop the liquid won't burn.

• With the development of solar energy and storing electricity off the grid then you can run your induction cooktop off your own power.
• Go off the grid in the future. 

• No gas line required when your are renovating or building
• The induction cooktop is quicker therefore use electricity for cooking for a shorter period of time.
